How does Celluform treatment work?
- The deoxycholic acid and soy lecithin in the Celluform formula work to break down the membranes of the fat cells beneath the skin.
- Deoxycholic acid works by disrupting fat cells making them unstable. These cells then begin to break down and flush out through the body via the lymphatic system. These lipid residues are safely eliminated over 6-8 weeks.
- Collagen production is also increased, enhancing skin tightening post-treatment.

When Celluform solution is injected into subcutaneous fatty deposits, active ingredients prompt controlled breakdown of targeted fat cells. The deoxycholic acid and soy lecithin formulation causes lipolysis within fat cells, which causes the cells to rupture and release their cellular contents as fatty lipids. The body’s lymphatic system then helps to safely eliminate these degraded lipids over 6-8 weeks. A greater production of collagen is also stimulated, which contributes to a smoothened, firmed appearance. The end result is a gradual yet noticeable sculpting of treated areas.
Results should start to be visible 2-3 weeks after treatment and the results are likely to be permanent. For some patients one treatment is enough for their desired results, for others a programme of 2 to 6 treatment sessions approximately 2 weeks apart is required.

When treating the belly or abdomen area we would expect to perform 4 to 6 treatments approximately 2 weeks apart, with results beginning to be noticeable after 2 to 3 sessions. The number of sessions required depends on the area being treated and on how much fat tissue is present. You may feel some discomfort during the injection procedure but our clinician Dr Farzad is highly skilled and experienced and use techniques to minimise this as much as possible. We also apply topical anaesthetic for patient comfort.
Patients may experience redness, swelling, mild bruising and skin tenderness following Celluform treatment. This may take up to a week to resolve. Dr Bita Fazard will provide aftercare instructions and will advise you to avoid harsh skincare products, exfoliation and sun exposure for a certain length of time following treatment.
